The print above is a post-graduate litho created in 1991 as Artist in Residence teaching stone lithography with Carl Kamulski at Wayne County Community College, Downriver Campus in Detroit, Michigan, en route to receiving my Commercial Art Diploma at St. Clair College of Applied Arts & Technology, Windsor, ON.  During that period I was simultaneously working as Annual Studio Award Recipient at Windsor Printmaker's Forum to produce lithographs for a solo show at WCCC titled, "Over and Under the River".

The last lithograph I produced was upon my return to WCCC during the Spring semester of 1994 as Artist in Residence teaching stone lithography, again with Carl Kamulski.  I was also exploring paper marbling at Windsor Printmaker's Forum where a friend working in the studio encouraged me to apply to Sheridan College for a 12-week summer program to earn a Computer Graphics Certificate.

Upon successful completion of this program in 1995, my focus shifted from art to industry and I worked on production lines of all kinds for the next 5 years from vegetables to seat belts to windows to ceramic tile to heavy metal automotive parts storage units to plastic trim and beyond and made spare time art along the way including a much needed wall mural in the rest area at the tile factory.  Painting on a stone wall was as close as I could get to litho for the time.

In the summer of 2000 I had another opportunity to paint on a stone wall as Artist/Muralist for the Ford City Revitalization Project with Donna Mayne, Mark Williams and Steven Johnson.  This has opened up opportunities to paint wall murals in my community at homes and restaurants over the past 6 years.  One of the murals is an outdoor poolside mural which faded so much in the sun that I am now back to work on Saturdays to restore it.

At present I am mom to my beautiful 3 year old boy who loves to draw tractors.  For the past 3 years I have been working part time as Custom Framing Specialist for Sandpiper Gallery with Ron Scafone and Linda Bastien.  Now that I am seeing art, art reproductions galore of every level of quantity and quality, and the extremely rare, almost extinct fine art lithograph, I hear the stone calling and hope it will always be there for me when I am ready to return to my rock solid artistic foundation, do the work, have fun, and pull the weight of a stone, levigator, roller and press myself. While raising my boy, I keep my artistic hands as busy as possible and my latest project bringing me as close to litho as I can get for now is the brand new website for Windsor Printmaker's Forum.

All that hard work on production lines was sufficient for the purchase of a computer in 1998 and with the help of great friends along the way I learned enough about web-building over the past 8 years to take on the job of Web Master for Windsor Printmaker's Forum.

Returning to litho after 12 years away from stones, during which I gravitated to experiences equally as industrial on my employment path, is proving to be a HUGE milestone in my artistic life.  It marks a direction pointing directly at printmaking in my community once again, and at its power as a rock solid artist's medium of great industrial-strength.  I am honoured to serve again on the Board of Directors of Windsor Printmaker's Forum as an Artist who cherishes the medium of stone lithography and who is working to contribute to its preservation for myself and others who seek a rock solid foundation on which to build a great art portfolio.
