HELP FOR HAITI
  .
For all the children here who are given the gift of art, colouring, painting, and learning to share and give to the greater good,
as you sponsor them, they become the potential of the children with nothing but hope and our help.  Thank you for sharing the gift for all to fulfill their full and rightful potential.  For the sake of vibrancy of colour in art, inspired by the art of Haiti, that they may colour the world again...

Feb. 12, 2010

Today is the deadline for the Canadian government to match my donation to UNICEF.  I recently heard the sum of 113,000,000 was raised in Canada.

For all the children here who are given the gift of art, colouring, painting, and learning to share and give to the greater good, as you sponsor them, they become the potential of the children with nothing but hope.

I thank all who were the first to the front lines of Help and Hope for Haiti, to deliver the gift of your hard earned dollars, to those who have nothing. We are all they have.

Together, we have internationally attained 20% of my goal before April 11, 2010!

Thank You for sponsoring Diana's Kids for Haiti.

Haiti needs HELP NOW!

When you turn on the television and see how deeply the people there are suffering and you hear the children cry from the pain of broken bones, lost limbs and crushed flesh, it is very hard to go on without feeling the need to mobilize yourself and do something.

I started creating this page as a way of keeping the issue as much in the forefront as I can, to inspire anyone who sees it to do anything they can to give of themselves and their time, and to contribute to the network of organizations on the front lines who are actively involved in the process of relief, rebuilding and bringing healing.

It is my hope that this will somehow lead into a fundraising campaign.  As a Canadian fundraiser, I need to take advantage of this great opportunity I have to help.  Submitted by Feb. 12, 2010, for every Canadian dollar I am able to raise, my government will match it.

In the Works:  Diana's Kids for Haiti

As an artist, I love the Haitian aesthetic for vibrant colour in their art.  My focus is on the artistic side of fundraising.  I have a colouring book which I am bringing to life with the children in my world here.  I print out the pages, they colour them in, we have hours of artistic fun, they learn new and exciting things about art and life and now we are seeking out a new venue for the pages we colour.

I had a meeting with 4 of my kids regarding fundraising with our art and we came up with the idea of creating beautiful coloured pages for an art auction event which we would like to host and invite everyone we know to come and buy their pictures.

The kids are on board.  Now about the grown-upsIf you would like to sponsor one or all of Diana's Kids for Haiti, or if one of your children is one of Diana's Kids for Haiti and you wish to sponsor your child, please donate on line at our UNICEF page.  All the proceeds from our work will be donated to UNICEF Canada.

Little Hands:  The little hands in the photo below belong to Christopher, Age 4!  He's mixing Funstuff paints!  Christopher recently discovered

how much fun painting can be!  He has lots of fun mixing the colours and exploring the painting process over top of my colouring pages with his brushes!  It's okay if he goes out of the lines.  It's fun to learn how paints and brushes work!  He is working on a portfolio of pages which he would like to use to generate donation money for UNICEF Canada.
