Ships Ahoy!

Being close to the Detroit River and Lake Erie, I have opportunities sometimes, to take pictures of the Great Lakes ships I see on the frequent road trips I take along the Canadian shore of the lake and the river.  MORE

A Sunny, Summer-like, Spring Day at Colchester Beach

On May 23 I took Andrew and Lauren to Colchester Beach for the day.  They played in the sand and the water and of course, I took pictures galore!  MORE

Blog-a-Frog

Being that every so often I have the opportunity to visit the marshlands along the shore of Lake Erie, I am always on the hunt for frogs.  This album features some of the frogs who sat still long enough to allow me to take their pictures.  MORE

Turtles

One thing I discovered about turtles is that they are faster than you think!  To get good shots of turtles you really need to sneak up on them because they can see you coming before you see them!  By the time you realize they're there, all you get is a loud SPLASH!  MORE

A Beautiful Spring Day at Holiday Beach Conservation Area

In the early part of May the weather was picture perfect for taking pictures, so my friend, April and I took a day trip to Holiday Beach where we hiked along the trails and took pictures of the beach, the birds and the marshlands.  MORE

Wind Farm

Painting in Progress

FROM WHITE TO WOW!  HOW CAN I PULL IT OFF?

Written June 6, 2010:  I started working on a new oil painting at the end of April of this year.  This page shows thumbs at each stage of the process of its development, from white to WOW!  For a picture to have the WOW! factor I'm striving to achieve, it needs bold, brilliant colour, high impact composition, energetic style, simple design and its own unique identity.

See the progressive stages from white to WOW!  MORE.
